Nucor Latest Steel Mill to Raise Flat Rolled Steel Prices
Nucor became the latest flat rolled steel mill to publically announce a price increase on hot rolled, cold rolled and coated products. The Nucor announcement mirrors the $40 per ton NLMK USA increase of late last week and differs from AK Steel in that it does not differentiate between HR, CR and galvanized.
The increase was announced through an anticipated letter to their customers released after 5 PM ET today. Here is a copy of the body of the letter signed by the various sheet mill sales managers:
“Due to the continued high cost of raw materials coupled with consistent end user demand, the Nucor Sheet Mill Group will increase base prices on new orders for Flat Rolled products by a minimum of $40 per ton, effective immediately.
We reserve the right to review and re-quote any offers that are not confirmed with either a Nucor sales acknowledgement or written acceptance by both parties.
Please contact your Nucor District Sales Manager regarding pricing and availability.
Thank you for your continued support of the Nucor Sheet Mill Group.”
