RG Steel Announces New Management Positions

The following press release from RG Steel, LLC was sent to Steel Market Update, announcing new management positions:

Sparrows Point, Md., September 26, 2011 – Douglas Kovach and Sian Marcone have been named marketing managers for RG Steel, LLC.

Mr. Kovach is responsible for hot rolled products marketing, and Ms. Marcone is responsible for tin mill products marketing.

Douglas Kovach

Mr. Kovach has 19 years of steel-related experience in quality, operations, sales and marketing. He began his career with LTV Steel in 1992 as a process engineer in the Cleveland Works’ No.1 caster. Mr. Kovach then took his skills to NorthStar BlueScope Steel during its startup in 1997 where he progressed through many areas of the organization including quality assurance, outside sales and operations. Most recently he served as regional sales manager at Olympic Steel’s automotive division in Detroit. Mr. Kovach holds a bachelor of science degree in metallurgical engineering from The Ohio State University and an executive master of business administration degree from the University of Toledo.

Sian Marcone

Ms. Marcone has 18 years of steel sales and marketing experience. She began her career in Bethlehem Steel’s sales training program and served in several district sales offices. Ms. Marcone has worked in sales and marketing at the Sparrows Point plant since 1997 and most recently was regional sales manager for the eastern region including servicing about one half of the plant’s tin mill products accounts.

She holds a bachelor of science degree in marketing from Lehigh University and a master of business administration degree from Loyola College. Ms. Marcone currently serves as international president of the Association of Women in the Metal Industries and will preside at its international conference this week in Washington, D.C.
