Steel Market Update Construction & Steel Summit Conference Next Monday
In less than a week, Steel Market Update (SMU) will conduct a one-day conference at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The event, which is the 2nd Annual “Construction & Steel Summit” conference conducted by Steel Market Update, is being held in conjunction with METALCON for the second year in a row.
The conference is broken into three distinct sections:
Economic & Steel Trends/Forecasting: What does the economy hold for 2012? Our speakers will be Timna Tanners, Steel & Materials Analyst, Bank of America Merrill Lynch Research; John Anton, Manager, IHS Global Insight Steel Service; Peter Wright, Consultant to Gerdau.
Current Industry Issues: Sharing the Wealth – Scrap & Raw Materials Analysis; the China Affect on Prices; Moving Metal – Trucking and Logistics Issues. Our speakers include: Jim Ruiz, Senior VP, PLS Logistics; Ben Abrams, President, Consolidated Scrap; Paul Shellman, Principle Consultant, Wainscott Commodities.
Steel Mill Roundtable: Factors Shaping the Industry into 2012. We have four excellent mills with us this year with Tom Marchak, Vice President, Commercial, Severstal NA; Rick Blume, General Manager, Commercial, Nucor Steel; Jim Banker, Executive VP, Commercial, NLMK-USA and Jerry Richardson, General Director, CSN LLC.
Cost for the conference is $300 per person for non-Steel Market Update members and $250 per person for those whose company subscribes to Steel Market Update.
Registration is available at the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) at the METALCON registration desk which will open at 7:30 AM on Monday, October 10th – the day of the conference.
Conference registration begins at 10 AM and the conference begins at 11 AM sharp and will conclude with a networking/cocktail party which will end at 6 PM.
