Steel Market Update Provides Information about Flat Rolled Steel Industry
Steel Market Update publishes a newsletter about the flat rolled steel industry which is sent to our members (and trial members) three times per week. Our latest newsletter was published earlier this morning and contained information about the restart of the “L” furnace at RG Steel Sparrows Point as well as the following articles:
Severstal announced price increases late last week on hot rolled, cold rolled and galvanized steels. We go into detail as to what the price increases were and how they will impact the market. We also explain base prices for those who are not used to them.
Steel Market Update belongs to HARDI and we have a relationship with the Institute for Trend Research (ITR) which does economic modeling and forecasting for HARDI. We began a two-part series on the latest forecast by ITR for the residential and commercial construction industries.
Every Sunday evening / Monday morning issue contains our review of a number of the flat rolled steel indexes and how they compare to one another.
We produced two articles on U.S. steel imports with special emphasis on flat rolled products. Did you know the biggest steel importers into the U.S. market are the domestic steel mills?
We also cover oil rigs and iron ore spot prices in every Sunday evening / Monday morning issue.
Galvanized extras can be quite confusing since there are almost as many varieties as there are domestic steel mills. We try to provide a map for those who are buying galvanized so they can be aware and can compare the extras being used by different mills.
We welcome new free trial members – you can register for our newsletter on our website: www.steelmarketupdate.com or by clicking on the button below this blog post.
We also encourage new members to sign up for a one year membership. You can get more details by clicking on the “subscribe” button below or on the tool bar at the top of our website.
