Steel Market Update On The Flat Rolled Steel Market
Steel Market Update will publish our newsletter later this evening for those who are registered members and our free trial members. The flat rolled steel market has been quite active over the past few days and Steel Market Update has been speaking directly with buyers and sellers of steel and we are conducting one of our bi-monthly Steel Market Surveys this week as well.
Our Steel Market Update Steel Buyers Sentiment Index will be released this evening. Our last Sentiment Index was reported two weeks ago at +41 which was the highest on record since we began measuring Sentiment going back to November 2008.
We also have reports in this evening’s edition about RG Steel and the restart of the hot end at Sparrows Point.
We have a report about the Metal Service Center Institute (MSCI) shipment and inventory data for both U.S. and Canadian service centers with special emphasis on the flat rolled and plate sections of their report.
We have multiple reports about November exports and Apparent Steel Supply. It appears the U.S. will exceed 100 million tons of Apparent Steel Supply for the year 2011 – the first time since 2008.
There have been a number of economic developments and reports such as the AIA Billings Index and Housing Starts and Permits – we have articles about both.
We also have articles about the Hot Rolled Futures and Options markets. This is a weekly feature in our Thursday evening newsletter.
We encourage those of you who have not read our newsletter before to take a few moments and register for a free trial. We also encourage those of you who enjoy our website but would like to add more depth and breadth to your market information to become an annual subscriber to Steel Market Update.
