North American Flat Rolled steel Mills Announce More Price increases
The domestic (North American) flat rolled steel mills are announcing a second round of price increases this week.
Flat rolled steel buyers are shocked to see new higher prices on hot rolled, cold rolled and coated products coming out of the domestic mills over the past twenty-four hours.
Nucor is reported to have taken the lead but, when the dust settles it appears ArcelorMittal may win with the highest prices.
The domestic steel mills reacted to the U.S. Steel price increase on Monday and by Tuesday afternoon base price levels on hot rolled were $600-$610 per ton while cold rolled and coated were $680-$700 per ton (plus extras).
The new prices are running $30-$60 per ton higher than earlier this week.
