Nucor Raises Flat Rolled Steel Prices for 4th Time in Seventeen Days

For the 4th time in the last seventeen days, Nucor has begun revising their base prices on hot rolled, cold rolled and galvanized steel coils. The latest price increase is, according to our calculations, $30 per ton ($1.50/cwt) on all flat rolled products.

Going back to November 29th, Nucor has adjusted prices higher four times. The previous three were for a “minimum” of $40 per ton each or, a total of $120 per ton ($6.00/cwt). The latest adjustment takes the total over the seventeen days to $150 per ton ($7.50/cwt).

Steel Market Update will have more information including specific base prices in our SMU newsletter which will be published again on Thursday evening.
