New Star Metals, Inc., a leading Midwest metals processing and supply chain management company, today announced the appointments of Nicholas G. Berchtold as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and Michael E. Noble as Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer.

In making these appointments, Patrick J. Murley, New Star Metals’ Chief Executive Officer commented “I am delighted to have Nick and Mike joining the New Star Metals senior management team. I am confident that their leadership and extensive knowledge in their respective fields will complement our existing team and help us meet our goals of growing revenue, profitability and shareholder value.”

Nicholas G. Berchtold

Mr. Berchtold brings 22 years of comprehensive financial management experience to New Star Metals. He most recently served as Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Energy Focus, Inc., a publicly-traded Lighting Manufacturer located in Solon, OH. Previous positions included Divisional Controller at Wellman Products Group and Assistant Corporate Controller at Olympic Steel Inc. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Miami University (Ohio) and a Masters Degree in Finance from Case Western Reserve University.

Michael E. Noble

Mr. Noble brings 28 years of experience in the management of metals processing and supply chain organizations. Prior to his appointment as Vice President and Chief Commercial of New Star Metals, he served as President of one of its subsidiaries, Premier Resource Group, which he co-founded in 2001. Previous responsibilities included Sales and Purchasing management roles with Interstate Steel Company and Production/Inventory Control management roles with National Steel Corporation. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Purdue University.
