A reminder that the Association of Steel Distributors will hold their Fall 2013 conference in Las Vegas on October 24-26th. You can find out more information about registration on their website: www.SteelDistributors.org.
Our October Steel 101 workshop has been sold out for some time. Our next workshop will be held in Mobile, Alabama and we will tour the SSAB plate/hot rolled mill which is an electric arc furnace (EAF) steel producing facility. We will have the exact dates in early 2014 for you soon.
Our scrap sources are advising us that early forecast for October scrap is down $5 to $10 per gross ton.
As always your business is truly appreciated by all of us here at Steel Market Update.

Nearly 50% of respondents to our latest survey thought hot-rolled coil prices have already peaked. And where will those prices be two months from now? Responses were decidedly split on that question.
