Service Centers Increasing Flat Rolled Steel Inventories
Written by John Packard
December 8, 2013
Based on the results from our recent steel market analysis of the flat rolled steel service centers we found inventory levels increased to 2.30 months. As you can see by the graphic below, the Steel Market Update service center inventory levels tend to make very modest changes. It will be interesting to see if the MSCI official inventory data, which is due out this week, will also show an increase in carbon flat rolled inventory levels.
Our data is as of the first week of December and we will do another analysis in the middle of the month. The MSCI data shown below is as of the end of October.
