Northwest Pipe was selected to provide 108-inch diameter pipe for a Texas water project. The 81,958 feet of pipe translates into 23,000 tons of hot rolled substrate with production slated to begin as early as May 2014 according to SMU sources.
VANCOUVER, WA – Northwest Pipe Company, an industry leader of engineered welded steel pipe products, was selected to provide 81,958 feet of 108-inch diameter, cement mortar lined and polyurethane coated spiral welded steel pipe for section 15-1 of the Integrated Pipeline Project. The construction contract for the installation of the pipeline project has been awarded to Garney Construction out of Kansas City, MO. The pipeline will transport raw water and provide new infrastructure capacity for the area. The project is anticipated to be complete mid-March 2016 and is jointly owned by Tarrant Regional Water District and Dallas Water Utilities.
“The IPL project is a very important award for Northwest Pipe Company,” said Eric Stokes, Vice President of Sales – East Region. “We are excited to be part of such a critical water supply that will support the growing water needs within Texas.”
“The ability for Northwest Pipe Company to participate on water transmission projects such as IPL and similar projects in the future is the result of $11 million of recent investments that have been made in our Saginaw, TX facility. These investments have allowed us to continue to expand our product offering both in wall thickness and strength level on welded steel pipe up to 126-inches in diameter and will allow us to continue to improve our competitive position for the future,” said Scott Montross, CEO of Northwest Pipe Company.
