AK Steel Minimum Spot Pricing (Correction)
Written by John Packard
April 24, 2016
We wrote an article recently (Price Announcements Put Spot Numbers in Clearer Focus, SMU April 17, 2016) which contained an error regarding AK Steel’s “minimum” spot pricing on hot rolled, cold rolled and galvanized spot pricing. The table below references each of the AK Steel price announcements and where their minimum base price numbers should be at this time.
Hot rolled at $560 equals a minimum base price of $28.00/cwt.
Cold rolled at $680 equals a minimum base price of $34.00/cwt.
Galvanized at $690 equals a minimum base price of $34.50/cwt.
Buyers will need to add appropriate extras in order to obtain final FOB mill pricing on any specific item being purchased.
