California Steel Opens March Order Book, Announces Price Increase

On Monday, California Steel Industries (CSI) advised their customers that their March 2017 order book is now open and that transaction (spot) pricing would be increasing by $40 per ton on hot rolled, hot rolled pickled & oiled, cold rolled and galvanized steel products produced by the mill.
California Steel began increasing prices as they opened their order books for each of the following months: December 2016, January, February and now March 2017. The total amount of the announced increases is $190 per ton ($9.50/cwt).
The mills east of the Rocky Mountains have announced a total of five (5) price increases going back to late October 2015. Those five increases also totaled $190 per ton (+/- $20/Ton).
