Olympic Steel and its employees have been honored by the Hope Stout Society for contributing more than $1 million to Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana.
“Our employees consistently exemplify Olympic Steel’s core value of Corporate Citizenship through a strong commitment to the communities in which we operate,” said Chairman and CEO Michael D. Siegal. “Since our initial Working-for-Wishes campaign in 2004, we have helped grant more than 100 wishes to enrich the lives of children with critical illnesses.”
Make-A-Wish America created the Hope Stout Society in 2003. Olympic Steel is Northeast Ohio’s first donor to achieve the honor, according Doug Kelly, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana.
Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness.
“Support from the community is vital to our vision to grant the wish of every eligible child,” said Kelly. “We are beyond grateful for all that Olympic Steel and its employees have done for local families as we celebrate this incredible milestone.”
