Samuel Associated Tube Group announced it will invest $29 million to build a new manufacturing facility in Jefferson County, Ala.
Samuel Associated Tube, a division of Canada’s Samuel, Son & Co., is a manufacturer of small-diameter, electric-resistance-welded and fabricated carbon tubing. The new warehouse will total 284,000 square feet and is expected to be operational by Dec. 31, 2020. Approximately 50 jobs will be created at the new facility.
“We are very excited about expanding into our new facility,” said Vice President and General Manager Kristen Hudak. “We’ve been growing steadily over the past several years, and due to our growth have been looking for the right location to expand our business operations. This new location and facility will give us the opportunity to serve and meet the needs of our growing customer base.”
Samuel Associated Tube currently employs 190 people and converts carbon steel coil into mechanical and structural tubing, as well as precision cutting and fabrication of components and welded subassemblies. Its customer base includes Power Sports, Lawn and Garden, Furniture, Power Transmission, Automotive and Agriculture markets.
