Steel Dynamics Inc. announced several management promotions. Named to Vice President were Jordan Breiner and William T. Scruggs, while current Vice Presidents Jeff Hansen and Richard Poinsatte will take on additional responsibilities for the Indiana-based steelmaker.
Breiner has been promoted to Vice President of Steel Dynamics in addition to his role as General Manager of the Butler Flat Roll Division. Breiner has led the Butler division since June 2014 and was named General Manager in 2017. He first joined SDI in 1997 as a metallurgist and has progressed through greater responsibilities as the flat roll operations grew.
Scruggs will add Vice President of Steel Dynamics to his role as Commercial General Manager of the Flat Roll Steel Group. Scruggs has been with SDI since 2003 and was named General Manger in August 2015.
Jeff Hansen, Vice President of Steel Dynamics – Human Resources, Health and Safety, will have Environmental Sustainability added to his title. Hansen, promoted as Vice-President in 2014, will now also be responsible for SDI’s strategy concerning environmental sustainability and climate-related matters.
Richard Poinsatte, Vice President and Treasurer of Steel Dynamics – Finance, Business Development and Risk, will have additional oversight regarding SDI’s long-term growth strategy and its relations with government and trade associations. Poinsatte joined Steel Dynamics in 2000 as CFO for one of the company joint venture businesses in steel fabrication and since 2008 has been responsible for the company’s treasury, risk and legal applications.
“I am excited and pleased to recognize these four individuals for their outstanding leadership and positive impact within our company,” said CEO Mark Millett. “Their passion and spirit of excellence reflect the foundational principles of Steel Dynamics. They embody our culture of safety, performance, innovation–and always putting our people first. They have each been key contributors to our success and strategic growth.”
