Kloeckner Metals to Build Second Service Center in Mexico

Kloeckner Metals Corp. will hold a groundbreaking ceremony next week for its second location in Mexico.
The new, 84,000-square-foot facility will be in the central Mexican city of Querétaro and is expected to open in the spring of 2022, the Roswell, Ga.-based service center said.
“Through this strategic investment we will be able to further extend our specialized offering of complex, supply chain solutions to our key market segments with a specific focus on accelerating our growing position in automotive,” Kloeckner Metals CEO John Ganem said.
The groundbreaking ceremonty is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 19.
The new location will also serve the HVAC, appliance and metal-forming stampers as well as telecommunication infrastructure and manufacturers of building enclosures for electronics, the company said.
The Querétaro plant will offer hot rolled pickled and oiled (P&O), cold rolled, galvanized and other coated steels as well as stainless and aluminum. It will in addition sport a 72-inch slitter capable of processing thicknesses of 0.010-0.250 inches, Kloeckner said.
Kloeckner has for the last 17 years operated a single plant in Mexico – Kloeckner Metals Monterrey, located in the northern state of Nuevo Leon.
Kloeckner Metals is a subsidiary of Duisburg, Germany-based Klöckner & Co.
