The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) announced that Ryerson and Zekelman Industries, both based in Chicago, and Cleveland-based Olympic Steel have become members of the Washington-based trade group.
“These three companies have been strong allies on steel industry policy issues,” said Lourenco Goncalves, AISI board chair and president and CEO of Cleveland-Cliffs. “We look forward to working closely with Ryerson, Zekelman and Olympic Steel to further amplify the voice of our industry in combatting unfair foreign practices and other areas that present ongoing threats to the competitiveness of the American steel industry.”
AISI President and CEO Kevin Dempsey added, “The collaboration with these three companies will enhance AISI’s already significant engagement with members of Congress and the administration.”
