Varsteel Ltd. announced two new strategic acquisitions. The Canadian service center stated that the acquisitions position it to meet a wider range of steel product needs.
The Lethbridge, Alberta-based service center acquired two companies based in British Columbia: Reliable Tube, based in Langley, and Spartan Metal Processing, based in Kelowna. Each will operate as an independent subsidiary of Varsteel, the company said in its Sept. 3 LinkedIn update.
“This strategic acquisition strengthens our coast-to-coast presences and enhances our ability to meet the growing demands of our customers,” stated the company.
The update also announced that existing management teams for Reliance Tube and Spartan Metal processing will continue to run the daily operations.
Varsteel’s statement highlights the acquisitions’ advantages for customers in the steel market.
“Together, we are positioned to offer a more comprehensive range of structural steel products, expanded processing services, improved supply chain efficiency and faster delivery timelines,” stated Varsteel.
