Written by Laura Miller
Reliance Inc. announced two big US government contract wins from its wholly-owned subsidiary AMI Metals Inc. of Brentwood, Tenn.
Steel contract
The first is a multi-year contract with the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
AMI, which has locations throughout the US and Europe, will supply steel bollards and plates, as well as provide steel logistics support services, for the construction of a wall along the US-Mexico border.
The contract’s maximum value is $2.24 billion. It runs from Feb. 11, 2026, through Dec. 31, 2028. Steel deliveries should begin in the second quarter.
Aluminum contract
The second contract win is a five-year contract to supply aluminum plate to Lockheed Martin.
The “indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ)” contract goes from Jan. 1, 2027, to Dec. 31, 2028. Valued up to $654 million, it includes value-added processing of aluminum plate for unspecified Lockheed Martin facilities, partners, and subcontractors.
CEO comment
“We are excited to be entrusted with these large and strategically important awards,” said Karla Lewis, Reliance’s president and CEO. “These wins underscore Reliance’s ability to serve our customers on the largest and most complex programs, bringing together our scale, logistics capabilities, processing expertise, and deep experience managing critical metal supply chains.”
