Varsteel continues acquisition spree
Written by Laura Miller
Canada’s Varsteel Ltd. has acquired Acier Quebec-Maritimes Inc., a steel and aluminum service center in Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec.
The move expands the company’s presence in Quebec, Canada, and builds on Varsteel’s two other recent acquisitions in the province, of Victoria Steel (Acier Victoria) in Victoriaville and Pacific Steel (Acier Pacifique) in Laval.
“This strategic move strengthens Varsteel’s coast-to-coast footprint and enhances its ability to meet the growing demands of customers across Canada and the United States,” Varsteel said in a statement.
Other recent Varsteel acquisitions include Pacifica Steel’s structural steel division in April, Reliable Tube, and Spartan Metal Processing in British Columbia last year, and Atlantic Tube & Steel in 2023.
“By joining forces, we will be better equipped to serve our customers, expand our capabilities and deliver even greater value across our markets, because customer satisfaction remains at the heart of everything we do,” added Varsteel President and CEO Gerald Varzari.
Varsteel is a privately held steel and pipe service center, metal processor, rebar fabricator, and tube manufacturer based in Lethbridge, Alberta.
