    Wheeling-Nippon promotes Reder to COO, Petrella to commercial VP

    Wheeling-Nippon Steel Inc. announced on LinkedIn a series of promotions across the West Virginia-based company.

    Reder

    William Reder was promoted to chief operating officer.

    Reder has served as Wheeling-Nippon’s VP of commercial for a decade, the company said, playing “a pivotal role in driving growth, strengthening customer relationships, and advancing our strategic objectives.” Prior to joining Wheeling-Nippon in 2016, he spent more than 27 years in sales at U.S. Steel.

    As COO, Heder will lead operational and strategic initiatives across the company. He will report to President and CEO Will Kusumoto.

    Petrella

    Brian Petrella was promoted from commercial GM to commercial VP.

    Responsible for leading the development and execution of the company’s commercial strategy, he will report to Reder.

    Petrella has been with the company for almost 28 years, 11 of which were as commercial GM.

    Waugh

    Wheeling-Nippon also announced the promotion of Carla Waugh to an expanded role as GM of operations services.

    Waugh will report to Petrella and lead the operations services team, working closely with commercial and operations.

    Corona

    Finally, Jeff Corona was promoted to GM of the systems department, where he will drive innovation, operational excellence, and technology solutions.

    He will also report to Reder.

    Wheeling-Nippon Steel is a subsidiary of Japan’s Nippon Steel.
