Russel Acquires Pre-Paint Distributor

Toronto-based Russel Metals, Inc., has acquired Color Steels, Inc., a service center that processes and distributes pre-painted metals from facilities in Thornhill, Ontario, and Laval, Quebec.
David Sanderson will continue as president of Color Steels, along with the current management team. Color Steel’s revenues for the last year totaled approximately $45 million.
“This unique opportunity allows us to grow our Canadian service center footprint through the acquisition of a profitable, well-run company. The acquisition of Color Steels expands our Canadian service center product offerings into processed pre-painted flat-rolled product,” said John Reid, Russel president and COO.
