Mill Maintenance for 4th Quarter 2016
Written by John Packard
September 13, 2016
Much has been made about the number of shutdowns there will be at various steel mills due to planned maintenance outages. Steel Market Update has been working with a number of our buyer sources to come up with a tentative schedule of the various projects due in the 4th Quarter 2016.
This is our “best attempt” at getting at as many maintenance items as possible. If you are concerned about one of your suppliers you should contact them directly for the most up to date information that they have or for any changes in their schedules.
If the mill is not listed below it is because we do not have information regarding any “special” maintenance projects at that particular mill. If you have information/corrections that you would like to share with SMU regarding maintenance/outage schedules please send it to: info@SteelMarketUpdate.com

Nucor
Nucor has something scheduled at all of their flat rolled steel mills during the late 3rd and 4th Quarters. We understand that the Nucor Arkansas units are on a staggered basis to minimize the impact that maintenance could have on their customers.
Steel Dynamics
The shutdown of the light gauge galvanizing line at Columbus as they added the new Galvalume pot has been completed according to statements made by CEO Mark Millett during our Steel Summit Conference. At this point in time their new paint line will begin trials in December or into early January.
