NLMK USA Announces February Base Pricing

In a letter to their customers dated today, Monday, December 23, 2013 – NLMK USA opened their February order book and advised their customers of their “minimum” new base price levels:
Hot Rolled $35.00/cwt ($700 per ton)
Cold Rolled $40.50/cwt ($810 per ton)
Coated $40.50/cwt ($810 per ton)
Specialty $25/ton increase on all high carbon and alloy products.
NLMK USA also advised that all published extras are in effect and that the pricing is to be effective immediately on all new orders.
The letter was signed by James M Banker, Jr., Executive Vice President, Commercial for NLMK USA.
The base prices referenced are in line with the US Steel announcement of December 16, 2013 as well as the AK Steel and Severstal NA announcements made early in November 2013 (Severstal was $40.00/cwt on cold rolled and coated).
