August 23, 2020
Today we finally go LIVE! The platform is now open. There is content beginning at 9 AM this morning. We will open the 2020 SMU Steel Summit Conference officially at 10 AM ET. This being an unusual year, we came up with an unusual opening, and one that I think you will not want to miss.
Some quick facts – we are around 870 registrations as of Sunday, Aug. 23. We met and exceeded our attendee goals for a virtual event. This will be either the second or third largest Summit Conference we have ever hosted. It will be the largest virtual steel conference in the Western Hemisphere this year. It will also be the largest gathering of flat rolled and plate people for any conference (live or virtual) in North America during calendar year 2020.
On Friday and Saturday, we received registrations from these companies: International Trade Commission*, DC Metal Sales*, ArcelorMittal USA, Alliance Steel, Kataman Metals, Gibraltar Industries*, Champion Iron Limited*, Stemcor USA, Inc., Matandy Steel & Metal Products*, Vision Metals, USG, Hascall Steel Company, Key Business Solutions LLC, L&W Supply, Kingspan Insulated Panels, Olympic Steel*, Norfolk Iron & Steel*, EXLTUBE, Precoat Metals, Cooper Consolidated LLC, Autlan, Accurate Steel Fab, LLC, Arrow Tru-Line, Universal Steel…(items with a * mean more than one person registered).
