Nova Plans Construction of Pipe & Tube Plant in Ohio

March 23, 2021
Canada-based Nova Steel plans to move forward on construction of a new pipe and tube steel plant in Delta, Ohio. Originally slated to begin construction in May 2020, the project was delayed due to the COVID-19 crisis. The facility will be located in proximity to North Star BlueScope and will utilize steel coil from the mill for production of hollow structural sections and standard pipe.
Site development began last fall, but construction of the building will depend on Ohio weather, said Matt Gilroy, executive director for the Fulton County Economic Development Corp. Nova hopes to begin erecting the steel frame for the facility within the next few months and complete it by the fourth quarter. Production from the new plant is slated to begin in January 2022. Approximately 100 jobs will be created.
Nova Steel, a privately-owned company headquartered in Montreal, is a diversified value-added manufacturer of steel products using steel coil as its primary input. With nine locations in North America, Nova Steel provides pickling, slitting, temper rolling leveling, blanking, tube making, pipe processing and laser tube cutting. The company services the automotive, construction, mining, agriculture, transportation, plumbing and heating, HVAC, waste equipment, rail, and other related industries.
