Next Community Chat to Feature Evraz NA Strategy Chief
Written by Michael Cowden

SMU is pleased to announce that our next Community Chat will feature Jefferson Shaw, vice president of strategy for Evraz North America.
Mark your calendar for Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 11 a.m. ET (10 a.m. CT). And click here to register. It’s free.
We’ll talk about Evraz NA’s plans to run its steel mill in Pueblo, Colo., on solar power and, more broadly speaking, the interplay between renewable energy and traditional energy sources like oil and natural gas. (Hint: They are not mutually exclusive.)
We’ll talk about decarbonization. And we’ll also talk steel – plate, rail, and pipe and tube. Will infrastructure spending provide a lift to rail? Could CO2-reducing technologies like carbon capture and sequestrarion prove to be a significant new market for tubulars?
As always, we’ll keep it to about 45 minutes. So you can (virtually) drop in, learn something and then get on with your day.
