SMU Community Chat To Host GMK Center CEO Stanislav Zinchenko
Written by Michael Cowden
May 10, 2022
GMK Center CEO Stanislav Zinchenko will be the featured speaker on the next SMU Community Chat on Wednesday, May 18, at 11 am ET.
GMK Center is a Kyiv, Ukraine-based think tank focused on the iron and steel sector in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
Zinchenko will talk about how Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has affected North American steel markets directly. He will also talk about the indirect impact of the war on broader global supply chains – that includes not only iron and steel but also industries as diverse as agriculture, energy and pharmaceuticals.
GMK has a unique vantage point because it works with many of the key players in Ukraine’s iron and steel industry, including Metinvest, Interpipe, Ferrexpo, ArcelorMittal, DCH Steel and Centravis.
This isn’t just a steel story. It’s a human story too, as anyone reading or watching the news knows all too well. Zinchenko will also talk from his own experience about what it is like to live and work in Kyiv during a war.
As always, we’ll keep it to about 45 minutes. You can drop in, learn something – and then get on with your day.
The webinar is free. We look forward to your questions. Register here.
