Written by Michael Cowden
June 20, 2024
The next SMU Community Chat will be Wednesday, June 26, at 11 am ET (10 am CT) with Gary Stein, CEO of Triple-S Steel Holdings Inc.
The webinar is free to attend. A recording will be available only to SMU members. You can register here.
We’ll talk about the market for structurals and trends in construction. We’ll also touch on trade policy, government regulation – and maybe even a lesson or two from steel history.
So think of some good questions, and bring them to the Q&A.
More about Gary
Triple-S Steel’s founder, Bruce D. Stein, named his son Gary the president of the company on his first day of work in 1983. Since taking over, Triple-S Steel has grown from a single location to one of the industry’s largest players in steel service centers.
Triple-S Steel, a family-owned business, now encompasses more than 53 locations. Triple-S’s 2,300+ colleagues can be found across 17 states, Canada, Dubai, and Colombia.
Gary’s family extends to his wife of 33 years, Tracy, and their three grown children, Sam, Ben, and Ellie. In addition, Stein has served on numerous civic, philanthropic, and industry boards.
Notably, Stein currently serves on the board of the American Institute of Steel Construction and (AISC) and the board of visitors at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
