Flat-rolled steel service center Alliance Steel has expanded into the tubular market with the launch of Alliance Tubular Products.
The new Alliance division manufactures square and rectangular electric resistance welded (ERW) products and steel HSS tubing. Production has already started and will continue to ramp up next year, the company said in a statement.
Alliance Tubular Products is located on the company’s campus in Gary, Ind., which also includes Alliance Steel, Alliance Processing, and Alliance Fabrication and Manufacturing.
Privately owned Alliance Steel supplies and processes hot-rolled, cold-rolled, and various coated sheet products, as well as pre-paint and stainless steel. It also has facilities in Atlanta and Memphis, Tenn.
“We have achieved an extremely high level of vertical integration across the family of companies at our state-of-the-art Gary, Ind., facility,” stated President and COO Drew Gross. “This milestone significantly bolsters our standing as a trusted and all-encompassing provider of steel solutions in the industry.”
Carl Johnson is joining Alliance as vice president and general manager of the new tubular division. Prior to this role, he was with Consolidated Metals Inc. for more than 10 years, most recently as COO, according to his LinkedIn profile.
