While steel news may be starting 2025 off with a bang, Nucor’s consumer spot price (CSP) for hot-rolled (HR) coil is not: The steelmaker is keeping its weekly published price unchanged for yet another week.
Nucor’s HR coil CSP has been at $750 per short ton (st) since mid-November. And it will remain there for this week, the Charlotte, N.C.-based company said on Monday morning.
The spot price for HR from Nucor’s joint-venture subsidiary California Steel Industries (CSI) is also unchanged at $810/st.
SMU’s average HR price has also seen little change since November, hovering around $675/st, according to our interactive pricing tool.
We will update our price indices this week and publish the prices in Tuesday’s newsletter.
