Olympic opens new Houston facility for Action Stainless unit

Olympic Steel has opened a new facility in Houston to support its Action Stainless business.
The Cleveland-based service center chain said the 105,000-square-foot facility will increase Action Stainless’ Houston operations footprint by 73,000 square feet.
“The relocation of our Houston operation represents the next step in our strategic growth plan for Action Stainless and our entire specialty metals business segment,” Andy Markowitz, Olympic’s president of specialty metals, said in a statement on Monday.
He added that as part of the company’s continued growth, “we’ve expanded further downstream to better support our customers’ complex value-added and precision fabrication needs.”
Action Stainless is a distributor of stainless steel, aluminum, and specialty alloy products.
In addition to the Houston location, it has facilities in Dallas, Kansas City, Mo., and Rock Hill, S.C.
