Jack Biegalski has been named chief executive officer of the Sewickley, Pa.-based flat-rolled service center Esmark Steel Group.
He succeeds Roberto Alvarez, who is stepping up to lead Esmark International, the company announced on Friday.
Esmark Steel Group
Biegalski joins Esmark with nearly 40 years of experience in the steel industry. He most recently served as president and CEO of American Heavy Plates. Biegalski has also worked as director of sales at ArcelorMittal USA.
James Bouchard, founder, executive chairman, and former CEO of privately held Esmark Inc., said Biegalski “brings a wealth of steel and producer industry experience to the team.” The company is “very excited to welcome Jack to the Esmark family to lead our steel group.”
Biegalski will report directly to Bouchard along with Alvarez. Also reporting to Bouchard are Randy Stanton, acting President and CFO of Esmark Inc., and Dave Luptak, CEO of Ohio Coatings Co.-Tin Operations.
Esmark International
Alvarez has been named CEO of Esmark International.
He will lead the Esmark Steel International business headquartered in Monclova, Coah., in northern Mexico. Esmark established the subsidiary in 2023 to supply flat-rolled steel products to the country’s industrial sectors.
Additionally, Alvarez will oversee Esmark’s joint ventures in Latin America, Slovakia, Japan, and South Korea, the company said.
“I am very grateful to Roberto for running Esmark Steel Group successfully for many years,” Bouchard said. “Focusing all of his time now on our international business and our growth into new markets is the perfect next role for him.”
