FGM-Pacesetter expands into Houston with NSPS Metals deal

Flack Global Metals (FGM) announced Thursday it would expand into Texas by assuming the Houston operations of NSPS Metals.
The metals processing facility will operate under the name Pacesetter Houston effective Nov. 1.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“With Pacesetter Houston, we continue to build a distribution network designed for flexibility, control, and performance,” FGM founder and CEO Jeremy Flack said in a statement.
“Expanding our footprint allows us to better serve customers across the supply chain while advancing our mission to bring stability and optionality to the metals industry,” he added.
FGM said the Houston location would complement Pacesetter’s existing service centers in Atlanta and Chicago.
The deal will boost Pacesetter’s presence in the OEM and construction products market. It will also increase Pacesetter’s ability to serve customers in Texas, surrounding states, and Mexico, FGM said.
Recall that Scottsdale, Ariz.-based FGM – a hybrid industrial company that buys, sells, manufactures, trades, and invests in flat-rolled steel – acquired a majority ownership stake in Pacesetter last year.
FGM’s origins are in steel futures. The company has since expanded into the physical space not only with the Pacesetter deal but also with it acquisition of Fabral.
Fabral, which FMG acquired in 2023, makes metal roofing. Under FGM, it has expanded into the solar market as well.
