    Nucor increases HR CSP for 9th straight week

    Nucor raised its weekly hot-rolled coil spot list price by $10 per short ton (st) this week, marking the company’s ninth consecutive increase.

    On Monday, Dec. 22, the Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker announced its HR consumer spot price (CSP) is $950/st this week, up from $940/st last week. The new price reflects a $75/st gain from nine weeks earlier. 

    Nucor’s West Coast joint venture, California Steel Industries (CSI), increased its HR price to $1,000/st, a $15/st increase week on week (w/w).

    Lead times for all spot orders remain at 3-5 weeks, Nucor said. 

    SMU’s HRC price averaged $910/st fob mill, east of the Rockies, as of Tuesday, Dec. 16. The price reflects an increase of $15/st w/w. 

    You can find regular weekly price assessment information each Tuesday evening. SMU is pausing its weekly assessments until Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026.
