Russel Metals closes deal for seven Kloeckner locations

Russel Metals has closed on its previously announced US$102 million acquisition of seven US service centers from Kloeckner Metals.

The companies announced the deal in late September.

The metals distributor headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, is now the owner of Kloeckner facilities in Dubuque, Iowa; Charlotte, N.C.; Suwanee, Ga.; Houston; Austin, Texas; Jacksonville, Fla.; and Pompano Beach, Fla.

Russel Metals President and CEO John Reid welcomed Kloeckner employees to the Russel family. He further noted, “We look forward to expanding our US footprint in key geographic areas.”

The company earlier disclosed the seven service center locations generated ~$500 million in average revenue from January 2023 to June 2025.

Reid also previously stated that, upon this deal’s closing, approximately 50% of the metals distributor’s revenue will come from the US. That compares to 30% in 2019 and 39% in 2024.

Kloeckner Metals is the Roswell, Ga.-based US subsidiary of Germany’s Klöckner & Co.
