O’Neal Industries (ONI) has announced changes to its top leadership.

The Birmingham, Ala.-based family-owned metals service center group announced the following appointments, effective immediately.

Craft O’Neal, grandson of company founder Kirkman O’Neal, is transitioning to the role of executive chairman at ONI. He joined O’Neal Steel in 1984 in the inside sales department. He was chairman and CEO of O’Neal Steel from 2004 until 2008. Since 2008, when ONI was established as O’Neal Steel’s parent company, he has served as ONI’s chairman and CEO.

Ruffner Page has stepped up to serve as CEO of ONI, having served as president and chief operating officer since 2022. Prior to that, he was president of global manufacturer McWane Inc. for over two decades.

Finally, Stephen Armstrong takes Ruffner’s place as president and COO. He joined O’Neal Steel in 2006 and has served as VP of administration, CFO, president, and CEO. Since 2020, he’s been ONI executive VP.

“This transition reflects our commitment to developing leaders who understand the full breadth of our capabilities and can guide our companies through evolving market demands,” commented Page.

“Stephen’s proven track record, strategic mindset, and deep knowledge of our business make him uniquely qualified to lead our operations into the next era,” added Craft O’Neal. “I look forward to working alongside Stephen, Ruffner, and our entire leadership team as we continue to grow and strengthen our family of companies.”
