Kloeckner Metals offers new capabilities as Iowa operations commence

    Written by Kristen DiLandro

Kloeckner Metals Corp. announced that beginning Jan. 1, 2026, the former Bauer Built Manufacturing site in Paton, Iowa, would lead all its commercial, manufacturing, and other operational activities.

The Roswell, Ga.-based subsidiary of Germany’s Klöckner & Co. said acquiring Bauer Built Manufacturing expands its heavy fabrication capabilities. It also gives Kloeckner its first in-house painting operation. Each extends the company’s ability to serve agricultural and industrial customers with heavy fabrication and higher value-added solutions.

According to the company’s statement, the acquisition has given the metals processor its first fully integrated manufacturing operation. In addition, Kloeckner now offers advanced heavy fabrication expertise across welding, hydraulics, and assembly.

The company said it can provide its customers with engineering and fixturing capabilities. The capabilities allow it to support custom designs, modifications to existing prints, and the manufacture of products from pre-existing prints.

“The start of operations in Paton builds on a strong manufacturing foundation while expanding how we support our customers,” said Kloeckner CEO John Ganem.

He added, “By bringing heavy fabrication and in-house painting together under one roof, we’re creating a more integrated manufacturing solution that simplifies supply chains and supports agricultural and industrial customers with high-quality fabricated solutions.”

Kloeckner retained the workforce at Bauer Built Manufacturing to ensure customers receive continued operational stability. Bauer was founded by Vaughn Bauer in the early 1980s. Its fabrication services focused primarily on the industrial and agricultural sectors.
