AISI: Domestic steel shipments fall in November but rise from 2024

US steel shipments fell month over month in November but rose year over year.
Domestic shipments totaled 7,073,659 short tons (st) in November, according to the latest figures from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). That’s off 8% from 7,692,319 st the previous month but up 4.6% from 6,762,637 st in November 2024.
Year-to-date shipments in 2025 through November totaled 83,498,728 st, a 5% increase from 79,493,824 st in the same period a year earlier.
Comparing YTD domestic steel shipments through November 2025 to the first 11 months of 2024 shows: corrosion-resistant sheet and strip, up 4%; hot-rolled sheet and strip, up 1%; and cold-rolled sheet and strip, down 3%.
