    Written by Ethan Bernard

Nucor raised its consumer spot price (CSP) for hot-rolled (HR) coil to $1,015 per short ton (st), up $5/st from last week.

The Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker said in a letter to customers on Monday, March 16, the CSP for its West Coast joint venture, California Steel Industries (CSI), also got a $5/st bump week on week (w/w) to $1,065/st.

Lead times of 3 to 5 weeks will continue to be offered, the letter said.

SMU’s HRC spot price averaged $1,005/st fob mill, east of the Rockies, as of Tuesday, March 10, even with the previous week’s assessment. We will update our prices on Tuesday evening, March 17.
