Written by Ethan Bernard
Oregon Steel Mills (OSM) has reported that Doyle Hopper has joined the Portland, Ore.-based company as its new president.
“Starting from entry-level roles to serving in senior leadership positions, Doyle’s nearly three decades of experience in the industry include large-scale operations and major capital investments,” the steelmaker said in an announcement on its LinkedIn page last week.
Hopper’s most recent position was as founder of Global Industrial Advisors, according to his LinkedIn profile. The firm is focused on “strategic partnerships in the industrial base and the defense industrial base.”
Among other roles, he also had a career at Nucor for 21 years.
“Very excited to be a part of such a great team and a rich history of producing the steel that has built America and protected our war fighters for generations!” Hopper said on his LinkedIn page.
Greenwich, Conn.-based private equity firm Atlas Holdings completed its acquisition of Evraz North America (Evraz NA) and its subsidiaries last July, of which Oregon Steel Mills was a part. The broader company now goes under the name Orion Steel Companies.
