Atlas Tube expanding Shuriken structural nut keeper line

Atlas Tube, a Zekelman company, said it is expanding its Shuriken structural nut keeper line.

The Shuriken is a kind of locking plate that prevents the nut from loosening under load. The lineup now includes five total sizes:

New 5/8” size available March 25
New 1-1/8” size available April 8
All other sizes (3/4”, 7/8”, and 1”) are in stock and available for immediate delivery.

“The expanded lineup provides engineers and fabricators with greater flexibility to design across a wider range of HSS (hollow structural sections) sizes,” Atlas said in a statement on Wednesday.

“Shuriken enables single-sided, field-bolted connections, simplifying steel erection and reducing labor demands on the jobsite,” the company added.

Atlas is part of Chicago-based pipe and tube producer Zekelman Industries.
