Bull Moose Tube agrees to acquire Hanna Steel

Bull Moose Tube Co. and Hanna Steel Corp. have reached an acquisition agreement, which will expand Bull Moose’s manufacturing footprint and add new tubing, coating, and logistics capabilities.
The Chesterfield, Mo.-based manufacturer of steel pipe and tubing products agreed to acquire Hanna Steel’s structural and mechanical tubing operations in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Pekin, Ill. Additionally, Bull Moose will take over Hanna’s coil-coating facility in Fairfield, Ala.
The agreement includes acquisition of Hanna Truck Line, the company’s in-house transportation fleet. Upon closing the transaction of the Hoover, Ala.-headquartered Hanna Steel, it will operate as a division of Bull Moose Tube.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Bull Moose CEO John Krupinski described the acquisition as a strategic fit. He said the purchase supports Bull Moose’s long-term growth plans. And he noted the deal adds new capabilities from Hanna’s operations.
“The acquisition of Hanna Steel is a strong strategic fit for Bull Moose Tube as we continue to expand our capabilities and enhance value for our customers,” Krupinski said in a statement on Monday.
“Hanna adds complementary assets, experienced teams, a respected reputation and culture, along with a product portfolio that supports our long-term growth strategy,” he added.
Andy Annakin, executive vice president and chief commercial officer of Bull Moose said, “This transaction enhances our flexibility in servicing our customer base and Hanna’s capabilities allow us to better meet evolving market requirements.”
The transaction is expected to close in the early part of the third quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
Brown Gibbons Lang and Co. (BGL) served as exclusive financial advisor to Bull Moose Tube, and Spencer Fane LLP acted as legal counsel.
JeAeries LLC served as the exclusive financial advisor to Hanna Steel, and Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP acted as legal counsel.
