Atlas Tube increases prices by $60/ton, again

Atlas Tube announced price increases for mechanical, HSS, and piling products.
The Chicago-based tube producer said in a letter to customers on Monday, July 20, the increases are effective immediately for all new orders.
It said all mechanical and HSS shapes through 14” square and equivalent rectangles will increase by $60 per short ton (st).
All mechanical and HSS rounds, and piling through 28” OD, will also see $60/st increases.
The increase applies to “all unconfirmed quotes and contracts,” the company said, noting that orders currently on its books with shipment through Aug. 21 will be price-protected.

This is the company’s second price hike in as many months. Atlas Tube also increased prices by $60/st on June 8.
Atlas Tube is a part of Zekelman Industries. Last week, Atlas announced it would form a joint venture with Maruichi USA, combining the companies’ operations under Atlas Tube’s management.
