US votes to maintain duties on rectangular pipe and tube
Written by Laura Miller
US anti-dumping and countervailing duties (AD/CVDs) on light-walled rectangular pipe and tube from four countries will remain in place for another five years.
The continuation of the duties comes after the US International Trade Commission’s (ITC) final determination in a five-year sunset review of the duties on LWR pipe and tube from Mexico, South Korea, Turkey, and China.
The ITC determined that revoking the existing AD/CVD orders would likely lead to continued harm to the domestic market. Three commissioners voted in the affirmative, while two commissioners did not participate in the proceedings.
Therefore, the existing AD orders on LWR pipe and tube from Mexico, South Korea, and Turkey will remain in place for the next five years, as will the existing AD and CVD orders on product from China.
