Nucor adjusts coating extras higher

Nucor announced revisions on its galvanized and galvannealed coating extras on Monday, Aug. 10, increasing both.

The move was effective with orders confirmed for the week ending Oct. 10, the letter said.

In an email sent to customers on Monday, the steelmaker said the increase was “consistent with our practice of monitoring the cost of zinc,” and attributed the increase to rising raw material costs.

SMU’s comparison of old and new extras in Table 1 (click to expand) shows increases of 7-20% across all thicknesses, with an average increase of 11%.
