Bula moves on from Blastr Steel

Mark Bula is wrapping up his two-plus-year tenure as CEO of Finland’s Blastr Green Steel.

“Following the company’s successful recapitalization, I will remain available during a transition period to support an orderly handover,” Bula said in a LinkedIn post. “After that, I am looking forward to what comes next.”

After 35+ years in the industry, Bula said his “next chapter does not necessarily have to be steel.” But he’s seeking opportunities to apply his industrial, strategic, and commercial leadership to build businesses and teams in Europe or the US.

Bula joined Blastr Green Steel as CEO in 2024. Before that, he served as chief commercial officer at Sweden’s H2 Green Steel and as chief revenue and chief commercial officer at Big River Steel (now part of U.S. Steel).
