US heating and cooling shipments slip in July but stay near 2026 highs

Total shipments of heating and cooling equipment slowed 11% from June to July, according to the latest figures from the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI). The slower month-on-month (m/m) pace still marks one of the highest shipment rates year-to-date.

Historically, shipments are strongest in the early summer months and weakest around the turn of the year, impacted by seasonal air conditioner and heat pump volumes.
