SMU Comparison Price Indices: Another Dip

The SMU Comparison Price Indices saw prices dropping on all products except plate products. Benchmark hot rolled coil saw pricing drop anywhere from $2 per ton (CRU) to $10 per ton (Platts). The HRC average dropped $6 per ton for the week to $670 per ton.
Cold rolled also dropped on all of the reporting indexes (SteelBenchmarker did not report last week) with SMU and CRU down $5 per ton and Platts $7.50 per ton. For the week our SMU Indexes average was down $6 per ton to $791 per ton.
Galvanized also dropped with SMU taking our number down by $20 per ton to $835 per ton for .060″ G90. CRU reduced galvanized by $2 per ton to $853 per ton.
SMU took our Galvalume index average down $15 per ton to $1066 on .0142″ X 40.875″, AZ50, Grade 80.
Plate prices were either stable (Platts) or rose by $10 per ton with the average now being $835 per ton.
FOB Points for each index:
SMU: Domestic Mill, East of the Rockies.
CRU: Midwest Mill, East of the Rockies.
SteelBenchmarker: Domestic Mill, East of the Mississippi.
Platts: Northern Indiana Domestic Mill.
